RUST ALL THE WAY AROUND THHE INTERIOR!!! – I was BEYOND thrilled to FINALLY have one of these drums. First thing I noticed was that one of them was busted open halfway as I brought it out of the bag. That’s fixable.

Not as pictured. – Bought for a friend for Christmas and I am very disappointed. Not only does it look in rough shape, (the drum and sticks) but all the notes sound basically the same. The coolest thing about this was the carrying bag it came in unfortunately. Will not be buying from this seller again, thats what I get for trying to find a reasonably priced one, should have just shelled out a few hundred bucks for something legit.

Peacock Pattern – Doesn’t Play 8 Notes – I purchased 8 tongue drums, including three with the peacock pattern. Of the 8 drums, 5 played nicely. All three peacock pattern drums were defective. The first peacock drum had 8 tongues that played 7 unique tones. Two of the tongues played the same tone. The second peacock drum had 8 tongues that played 2 unique tones. Four of the tongues played one tone, and the other four played a second tone. The tongues on the second drum were rectangular, not spoon-shaped as shown in the online images. The third drum sounded beautiful, but, like the second drum, the third drum played only two unique tones. Four of the tongues played one tone, and the other four played a second tone. When I sent the second drum back, I contacted the vendor to see what could be done to improve the quality control on the peacock drum. I got back a form response stating the my return request was received.

I got a dud – It looks cool, but the sound quality was not. Most tongue sounded the same, and there was no scale to it at all. Tuning is possible with magnets, but I couldn’t get into the drum to the underside of the tongues, so it was a failure. Beware and read the reviews. Some of them seem to be alright, but the one I got definitely had issues.

doesnt hace 8 notes, horribly out of tune – I have been a musician for over ten years and there are some serious issues with this as anything other than a decoration. For one, the description claims 8 notes with two octaves(4 notes in each octave) yet it actually only has two notes in each octave with two tongues per note. Additionally, it was horribly off tune. I allowed it time to come to room temperature so the cold didn’t affect the temperature and was barely able to get a passably pleasant sound out of it. After some expirimentation, I discovered that covering the holes on both the bottom and top yielded at least a decent tone but with only two playable notes the quality of the tone is rather pointless when it comes to any kind of actual use.

I like it but its okay – The stick that you hit the steel tongue drum with, its very small. I thought they were bigger than that because how they were shown on the pictures. Smh. Sadly they aren’t a nice size to me at all. Also one of the sticks , the black part has broken off, So I’m going to but some bigger ones. The tongue drum sound pretty cool and its beautiful too. I also don’t like it dont have the numbers on. I thought at least since it dnt have the numbers on it they would gave instructions or a paper explaining which notes n numbers are which but nothing.
