Just what I wanted! – I am a retired elementary music teacher, who is now homeschooling a kindergartener and a 2nd grader. They LOVE the new glockenspiel, and want to use it during free time as well as during structured learning. It easily covers their entire vocal range, and I love that it includes the chromatic keys on a separate row (similar to piano key arrangement). Even though the bars are not removable, this placement makes pentatonic exploration easy. It comes with two wooden mallets. Highly recommended!

70% sized instrument suitable for kids – While the description states that “This is a full size medium to large professional pro instrument,” it is smaller than I had expected. I would describe it as about a 70% sized instrument suitable for kids. It sounds fine, provided you hammer the bars in the sweet spot, but that is easier said than done, given their smallish size. A more standard size for tone bars seems to be about 1.25″W, resulting in an instrument at least 22.5″W, whereas a closer look at the specifications here indicate this instrument is 41cm = 16.1″ (so the bars are closer to 7/8″W). For what it is, it seems fine, but the description is somewhat misleading. If you’re willing to pay a bit more for a larger instrument, it’s possible to get one that mounts on a stand as well.

Easily breakable – Nice tones. Child hit plastic cover of pin & broke it w included wood striker & broke the cover off. Just looks bad. Due to this i would not recommend to childred. Could be made better. Not happy with value for the money

A lovely instrument nicely made. – The keys are carefully tuned, evidenced by the tones themselves as well as the milled removals carefully placed on the undersides of the keys needing adjustment.
