These are actually known as rumba claves as well as African claves and they make a lot deeper sound and are less of noxious than the claves that are used in salsa. In addition, you can get to sounds out of these claves. One is a deeper pitch if you hit it towards the middle and the other is a little higher pitch if you hit it on the sides. They are much more versatile than the traditional hardwood claves. If you want to bring some different sounds to your ensemble, try these wonderful items.
