Beautiful Sound – This kalimba is very well made, has a beautiful sound and I am very pleased. The only complaint is trying to read the music it’s a bit confusing as the key signatures go sideways and it’s a little overwhelming. I do have a background in music so I plan on looking into other sheet music to learn an alternative way to play. Though just striking random notes brought a beautiful and pleasant sound it’s fun to play around with.

Fun but you need to practice – I saw this for my teenage granddaughter. And thought I would enjoy it too. I got the 17 key kalimba for myself and I love it. But you need to practice. The keys alternate in scale on either side of the middle. I bought an 8 key kalimba for my granddaughter believing it would be easier for her. It’s not yet Xmas so I don’t know what she thinks, but I love my new toy.
