Product highlights :
【WOODEN LYRE HARP】Aklot lyre harp is carved from a piece of Mahogany. High hardness and density wood are strong enough to keep it in tone and avoid the string forced into the wood. The instrument is warm voiced with a pleasant tone.
【7 STEEL STRINGS】The 7 metal string lyre harp is equipped with durable steel strings. The tone is ringing and can fill in a whole room. The shorter the string is, the higher tone you’ll get. And so does the tension of strings.
【EXQUISITE DETAILS DESIGN】The lyre harp is with rounded edge, making it safer and more comfortable to hold. A bone saddle can transmit vibration better; with loop end design for more stable and keep it in tune.
【TUNING TOOLS INCLUDED】The lyre harp kit comes with a tuning wrench, you can use the wrench to adjust the tension of string by turning clockwise or counterclockwise.
【WHAT YOU GET】The lyre harp includes a lyre harp, a tuning wrench and a black gig bag. And we offer 45 days quality and satisfaction service. If you have any question, please feel free to contact us.

10 reviews for 7 String Lyre Harp, AKLOT 7 Metal

– Good value. I’m a hobbyist folk musician and dont know much about lyres, but was thinking about taking up the harp and this seemed like a good way to dip my toe in without spending hundreds on a Rees harpsicle. I love the look and feel of this. The design with its antler details is very folksy with a touch of Mori Girl style. The sound is straight out of antiquity, and it’s quite easy to play. The tuning can be a little fussy, just go very light and give the strings time to stretch out. It’s very relaxing to play.

Tuning comments – I love it. I’ve been unable to play my many guitars due to my hands not cooperating.

Not reliable or of good quality – First off I have to say, that the solid wood soundboard is very nice looking and comfortable to hold. They also provide a few nice extras, like a tuning wrench, sound pickup, and extra strings. The cheap velvet bag they provide is of poor quality and might keep the dust off the lyre, but it won’t offer any kind of protection for travel or even storage in one’s home. They should give you a hard case like the kind you get when you buy a Kalimba from any of the Kalimba manufactures. I read enough comments and reviews regarding the tuning issues this and other lyres have, especially for the first few weeks as the strings are stretched to their proper length. I used the insTuner app they suggested using and followed the Aklot YouTube tutorial for how to tune their lyre properly. It was very time consuming as every string was way off and out of tune. I had to tighten all of them. The strings were very finicky and needed to be readjusted a second time when I went back a few keys to double check they were still in key. When I got to the last string, which was the G string and the most left of the instrument, it kept remaining in F key even though the string was quite tight. I kept carefully nudging it to G but it wouldn’t budge past F. Finally the string broke and so did my patience for this product. I am not happy with the overall quality of the lyre. I bought a Kalimba on the same day, and I love that product as it is made extremely well, came with high quality accessories and it looks, feels, and sounds beautiful. It is a shame this Lyre which I had high hopes of playing was not as well made and designed as the company who made my Kalimba. I don’t recommend this manufacturer, Aklot, and I won’t buy anything from them in the future.

I’m a beginner … – I tuned the harp as I learned about it through YouTube tutorials. Experts say that with these little harps, the more you practice with it and be patient with retuning, it will eventually break in and stay tuned. People have complained about it not staying in tune but when I heard about putting it to use and breaking in the strings, I am excited to learn some chords. I think it has a beautiful sound.

– For the price, this is a great value and fun instrument. I’m pleasantly surprised. Yes it will not compare to a floor harp or even a harpsicĺe and it is not the harp for one that is planning to be a serious harpist. But it does have sweet tone, keeps in tune, good string spacing and so light and portable. It is a pleasure to take camping, play for fun, relaxation, improvisations. It has enough strings to play a lot of simple melodies. This is my second purchase as I ended up gifting the first one and realized how much I missed it so got this one and it is just as good as the first. It’s great for travel to keep practice up when I can’t take my larger harps with me. Customer service is fantastic to deal with as well, very courteous, prompt and so helpful.
