I’m a music teacher and I approve 🙂 – Ive been teaching music for 20 years and I had pretty low expectations for this drum. But it has a beautiful tone and I tested all the notes and they were within the acceptable range for every note. It isnt like a hang where you can use your hands directly to get a sound, but it sounds lovely with the mallets. I would recommend.

It’s not bad for a beginner – First and foremost, I want to say that this is not a bad drum. I am fairly new to testing the waters with the tongue drum, or really any musical instrument lol. It’s well-made, and the sound really is beautiful. My biggest complaint is that numbers two and three do not sound right… which is a bummer. They sound just like metal being hit with a mallet.… no musical beauty to be created.

Two tongues/notes #2* & #3* did not resonate properly making them sound flat and dull. – Two tongues/notes #2* & #3* did not resonate properly making them sound flat and dull. The other notes sounded clear and pure. The note stickers look like they will peel off eventually. I am returning it and ordering a different brand.

Pretty drum with decent sound – This is my third steel tongue drum, obviously I like these things. I watched the videos for this drum, saw the photos, checked the price ($40 at the time of purchase), and decided to go for it. It arrived with a decent carry case, a set of mallets, 4 finger mallets (very small, probably best for children), note stickers, music book, and a mallet bracket. Not sure what you’re supposed to do with the mallet holder, I wouldn’t attach it to my drum as it would affect the resonance, so it’s just extra junk like the finger mallets, which don’t produce much sound anyway.
