Great tool! – Like the exercises! Like being challenged daily. This book is improving my muscle memory. Can’t speak about the cd, as haven’t used, but glad I got the book at warehouse price. By week three I’m playing better, and doing tabs, hammer one and pull offs and scales! Without a teacher!

Stepping Out with My Ukulele – Been looking for a way to move beyond the basics and think Ukulele Aerobics is it! Especially impressed by how author has broken each daily lesson into very manageable bites. Concentrate on the small pictures, practice, and the Big Picture will take care of itself. Accompanying audio very helpful. Will be fun to see where this takes me, and my UB (Ukulele Buddy), too, as he bought his own copy on my recommendation.

– Am very new to playing a uke. I didn’t realise there w was so much to learn! Great idea to have different skills practiced on different days. Use of online material easy to access and it’s good to hear how a piece should be played. Not sure I understand all the techniques but there’s a lot of sites on the internet to expand on what they are.

Truly excellent book for skill building, but not the first book I would recommend for beginners – I teach the ukulele to folks, on an amateur basis, purely for fun. I would highly recommend this book after first going through one of the very basic ukulele books; not as a student’s first book. I would also suggest a good basic song book, such as the the Daily Ukulele. As I went through the book, I found myself learning and re-learning quite a lot. And, I have been playing string instruments a long time- about 50 years. Due to arthritis in my very small hands, the guitars, and other instruments, have long been retired.

Excellent mix of skills to practice. – I’m really happy I bought this book. I’m a beginner ukulele player and started taking classes at the beginning of the summer. I played the clarinet in middle school so I have a basic knowledge of music, but not a real big grasp of music theory. This book has a nice mix of weekly chords, strumming skills, scales, fingerstyle skills and licks & riffs to work on for a suggested 20 minutes a day over a course of 40 weeks.
