Did not produce a hollow sound – I returned this wood block because it had none of the hollow, woody tone that I was looking for. The sound was like hitting a piece of 2”x4” lumber.

It’s a block, made of wood. – I was hoping for a deeper, richer tone. The “sweet spot” is hard to find and it doesn’t sound too terrible once you find it, but it’s not great. This is probably best for something cheap yet pretty sturdy for kids to bang on.
