Mostly works – For a lightweight portable music stand it works fairly well. The main knock is the bag it goes in – it is already starting to wear through and the zipper sticks. Plus the bag needs to be slightly larger to get the folded stand parts to fit in easily (the wear issue might be related to how tight the bag is). So: pretty good but not perfect.

Perfect for my lecture notes and course material – Teaching at the college level means I don’t have a dedicated classroom, and I have found either immovable podiums, or ineffective podiums (in the wrong place and/or too heavy to move), or no podium at all for my lecture notes and course materials. Plus, I dislike being “the sage on the stage,” locked into one location. So, the obvious solution for holding music is the perfect solution for my problem!

Almost love it … – I really enjoy the portability of this sheet music stand and the fact that I can use it on my coffee table instead of having to find convenient floor space. The two things I’m not as excited about are: (1) I wish the sheet music portion of the stand was wider so I could easily display 3 pages simultaneously; and (2) although the open back design of the stand is critical to its portability, it’s really not very handy when using the spring-loaded “arms” to hold the music sheets in place because there’s nothing solid for the “arms” to press against. I fixed that by placing a card board sheet on the stand, behind my sheet music.

Folds up nice – This is a great portable music stand. Folds up nicely into a supplied carrying case. It is very lightweight so perfect for hauling around with your equipment. Be aware though, because of its light weight, it not too good at holding larger music books. For sheet music, thin folders, and even an iPad, it is perfect.

Great quality – I’m actually surprised at the quality of this stand. After reading some reviews I was a little worried it was gping to be cheap and flimsy, but it definitely isn’t. It does lean a little if you don’t have everything tightened perfectly, but it works great for my 6th grader to take to and from school.
