Nerdy Roommate Loved It – Got it for my freakishly talented piano playing roommate. He loves it, and though the sheet music is on the easy side for him, he still has a lot of fun playing it since he’s a big Harry Potter nerd. The arrangements are actually pretty spot on.

Accurate and easy to follow – This is an intermediate version of Harry Potter. However, I had trouble keeping the book open on the piano. It kept folding back and closing on me. It is really thick so it’s kind of hard to pry open unless you damage the spine.

kindle versions of sheet music may not be the best option – I got the kindle version of the Harry Potter Musical Magic sheet music because of the reviews that the hard copy had a poor binding. I don’t think the kindle version is the better way to go, though. The images were not very crisp and I was unable make out some musical symbols, even after zooming in – too fuzzy. I did a search of musical symbols on Wikipedia and found the most likely one that belonged and that had the closest shape (if I was a trained musician maybe this wouldn’t have been a problem – this was for my son who is taking piano lessons). I also couldn’t print it to give to my son for him to put up on his keyboard to play so I had to bring up each page on my computer and do a print screen, save it to my Paint program, and then print it out. If this version was a great deal cheaper than the print version it would have been fine. I paid $14.99 for it and the hard copy was about $16.50 or so. I am seeing the kindle version now for $10.00 but I think it should actually only be a third of the price of what the printed book is going for. Next time I would pay $5.00 for a kindle music book, no more.

Great buy – This is a brilliant buy if you are a Harry Potter fan who loves the piano. The selections are really varied from the movies and really enjoyable to learn.

My only disappointment was that one of the pictures fell out and the book does not stay open very well on the music stand. Harry Potter Musical Magic- The First Five Years – I really enjoyed this item. I liked the music arrangements, it had a lot of music selections and the playing level seemed pretty accurate. Poor binding; good music – The music, artwork (photos), and layout are all great, however, the binding on the book is terrible. After just a few days of opening up the pages, some pages are coming completely loose from the binding. Also, the binding used does not facilitate easily opening the book to lay it on a music stand at the piano. Basically, the book always “wants” to close. I’m debating inserting 3-hole punches and putting it in a three-ring binder. Also, the organization of the songs is weird – look at the table of contents – it is counterintuitive. All that being said, the music is great and it is a good compilation.

Wonderful Collection of Songs from the First Five Movies – I absolutely love the Harry Potter music. It truly is magical. The songs are simple but require a lot of technique to play which is exactly what makes them hard. I love all of the songs included in this book; they are very fun to play and really get you into a Harry Potter mood if you aren’t already.
