All the favourites – Most of the better known Barrios compositions found their way into volume III: “Julia Florida”; “Mazurka Appasionata”; “Una Limosna…”; “Vals Op. 8 No. 4”; “Choro Da Saudade” etc etc. There are some nice surprises too.

Volume 3 is the best of the Barrios series – While a college student I bought the first three volumes of the “Guitar Works of Agustin Barrios Mangore,” especially enjoying the pieces in Volume 3. And, yes, Volume 3 contains some of the best known Barrios works: Julia Florida, Vals Op. 8 No. 4, Las Abejas, Una Limosna and Aire de Zambia. Like the other three volumes, selections were mostly drawn from works performed and/or recorded by Barrios and, thus, are on the challenging side. So not intermediate student or sight reading fare although a few pieces are didactic in nature.

El Indio Paraguayo – This volume have the most beautiful pieces in my opinion from all IV volumes. The book format is not the most comfortable to read and this “First Definitive Collection” of Agustín Barrios is missing “La Catedral”, and probably some other works, but still, this is a great compilation.
