HOW IT WORKS: Our patented two-way humidity controlled Boveda packs compensate the atmosphere inside your musical instrument. When water vapor is needed, Boveda releases the cleanest and most purified humidity. When there is too much moisture in your musical instrument, Boveda absorbs the excess. Boveda requires zero maintenance, your instrument will always be protected. Wide fluctuations in humidity will cause the wood to expand or shrink, and degrades its performance abilities.
IDEAL HUMIDITY FOR WOODEN INSTRUMENTS: Most experts and instrument manufacturers agree that an ideal relative humidity range of 45-50% is best for storing instruments. Stop risking your instrument by adding water or other solutions. Only Boveda’s patented 2-way humidity control adds or removes moisture as conditions require to maintain the ideal humidity level in your instrument case. Boveda helps you protect your sound with the right relative humidity control with any wooden instrument!
EFFORTLESS PROTECTION: Nearly all guitars and other musical instruments made from wood are built in an environment where humidity is closely controlled and monitored. Wood is susceptible to warping that can alter the tone and timbre of the instrument, or even worse, cause it to crack during the manufacturing process. Protect your instruments against warping, cracks, and other damage cause by lack of humidification.
RESTORE & MAINTAIN: Boveda is the most effective way to properly store musical instruments anywhere. Simply place the Boveda packet in your acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, viola mandolin, ukuleles, cello, basses, clarinets, or other wood instrument Boveda helps you protect your sound with the right relative humidity control.
ABOUT US: Boveda devoted the past 23 years to the science of two-way humidity control, we know you will benefit from our commitment to precision. Becoming the global leader in any category does not happen overnight, but Boveda did this and continues to do so since 1997. Today, that persistence looks like millions of two-way humidity control packets getting shipped out each year to protect your finest rolls and tobacco related products.

Effective and Require No Effort – During the winter months, living in a cold weather climate, I foolishly left my wooden and laminate ukuleles on display in my home. As a result of the low humidity in the house (under 30%) two of the ukes necks were affected. One was repaired but the other, a pricey tenor, can now only be played if I use a capo. I saw the two way Boveda packs recommended on a Uke lesson website so I bought the suggested 49% packs and keep them in the closed cases. No problems since. Mine have lasted for 2 months thus far and I expect to replace them at 3 months. They last longest when placed in a hard case or very padded gig bag. The more air tight the case or bag, the better.

These appear to actually work 🙂 – I’ve been using these in my acoustic guitar case for quite a while now, but mostly just trusted that they were helping. When they got hard, I’d replace them. Then I purchased a couple of hygrometers to monitor the humidity levels around our house and discovered that we hover between 20-30% much of the time – while acou5stic guitars like 45-55%. I then left the meter in my acoustic guitar case for a couple days, and found it to be at 42% – definitely acceptable. Surprised at how low we are, I purchased a humidifier for my music room. For a few months now, I’ve kept the room around 15-55% humidity. To my pleasant surprise, I’ve found that these in-case humidity control packs stay soft for a long time now. Clearly, they have been doing what they say they do 🙂

Love these! – I play fiddle and fight with having enough humidity in the house in the winter for my instrument. I run a humidifier but needed more. A fellow musician told me about these and how well they work. I had never heard of this product before that. I love it and will always make sure I have one in my fiddle case from now on. Highly recommend for anyone with a wood instrument.

Easy and convenient. – So far so good. Love the convenience of these. I didn’t buy the fabric pouch for mine. I just fold it up in a bandana and drop it in the sound hole. Works great and I have a bandana handy for anything else I might need one for.

They work. – I have been using these humidity control pouches for years in my cigar humidor. I now use the double pouch in my acoustic guitar and bass cases. I use single pouches in violins and other smaller acoustics. They work perfectly. When the pouch feels dry and crumbly, simply replace it. That’s all there is to it. Your guitars etc. will thank you!

Fixed my violins, they sound better now. – My violins sounded muddy, musky, wolfy. I tried setting the sound post in them. Then I learned about the humidity. Something I was supposed to already have done. After about 44hours the violins sounded nice. Well pleased with the violins and the boveda. It’s my understanding that the violin could crack or warp without proper humidity control. I’ll have to check the violins each month.
