Very heavy and tight – I was looking for a noise maker to stop my dogs from excessive barking. I had one years ago but lost it in a move. This one is very heavy and stiff. I wanted to be able to just slap it against my hand to startle them but not possible with this one. Absolutely do not recommend if that is what you are looking for.

Defective Manufacturing – I am a track coach so I ordered this device to simulate the gun at the starting line. I was very excited to get it. However, when it came, it’s horribly manufactured. The flap is crooked. It’s literally only three pieces, and they put those together crookedly. They clearly don’t have any quality control at that factory.

Good components, bad assembly – This arrived in a pretty much unusable state. The wrong screws had been used (flathead rather than round), and there were apparently a couple of attempts to screw the hinge on as evidenced by multiple holes. There was also approximately a 1/16th” gap between the clapper and the base, and the hinge was not aligned over the gap. The result was that the clapper flopped around a bit and got looser every time I used it. Since this was for a DIY project I decided to remove the sprung hinge and remount it correctly, with roundhead screws. Works fine now.
