This is a Great Ocarina!! – Hey everyone, Sean ‘The Tester’ Chao back again for another review. Today we’re looking at Awef’s 12 Hole Ocarina Alto C.

Great beginner ocarina! – LOVE this instrument! This ocarina came in a nice travel case, and also came with an instruction booklet for reading sheet music. The sheet music that comes with the ocarina reads the same as most guides online for 12 hole ocarinas so it’s very easy to pick up new songs as you learn. Good sound quality too! Definitely not a “professional” instrument, but it’s great to start with!

Durable, interesting, and musical – This little instrument is unusual looking and interesting. Since I don’t read music and I’m tone deaf, I can’t attest to the accuracy but it does make a joyful noise! The piece is made from clay/ceramics so it can be broken if not cared for properly, but it doesn’t seem fragile. It came with a nice protective case for storage when not in use. It also has a wrist cord to help secure it when playing. A small music booklet came with it to help become familiar with the fingering. Hopefully, it will encourage further interest in music.

Fun Instrument! – This is a fun yet serious instrument. I love that it is something different and unique. It is well made and the color is really nice. It is made of something like ceramic, so it is breakable. However, it comes in a very nice case that is molded to fit the instrument. It also comes with a small song book so anyone can get started playing a simple tune very quickly. This would also make a nice gift for a musician and it would be a great display item as well.

Beautiful ocarina with a simple songbook – This ceramic ocarina is beautiful and has an interesting ripple design under a crazed clear glaze. It is well-balanced and doesn’t tip forward or back when playing high notes (where most fingers are not touching to provide stability). It appears to be tuned well, but the breath curve is a bit steep (you have to blow much harder for high notes than low notes or they will sound flat and breathy). This isn’t unusual for ocarinas, but it can be challenging to get used to. The case is lightweight but reasonably sturdy and seems to protect the ocarina well, so storage shouldn’t be a problem. The included lanyard is simple but pretty, and seems strong enough to protect against accidental drops while playing. This ocarina comes with a songbook that includes basic fingering and a number of simple songs to get a new player started quickly.

Sounds great! – My son collects Ocarina’s. I liked this one because it comes with a case for storage, and a small song book, which is great for beginners. It sounds really nice to me, but I’m not an expert by any means! It is also a nice size, I’m not sure if he’ll use the neck strap or not, but it is nice looking and feels like a decent quality. Overall, I am happy with the Ocarina.

Amazingly perfect – This isn’t cheap plastic. This is porcelain and come sun a great hard shell case. This sounds great and the finger spacing is done perfectly for smaller or larger hands. This does take time to learn but is worth the patience like any instrument. Fantastic buy and worth every cent.

Very pretty Ocarina – This ocarina is stunning , it’s a beautiful color and it looks to me that it’s ceramic with a nice glaze on it to make it polished and shiny looking. However, I don’t think I can tolerate that type of sounds that come out as they are almost if not completely identical to a recorder. So unfortunately, I might give it a few tries when I’m the only one home to see if I can get anything to sound right. If not after the 6 month period I will gift it to a friend’s grandson who knows all the game songs etc and hope he will be very happy with it, but with my migraines and phonophobia I don’t know what I was thinking, thinking I could learn to play this thing
